About Us

All my life, my mom (Janet) has taught me how to budget and save money. I remember her bringing the whole family to attend a financial savings class outside of school hours at a local church while growing up. She has taught me so much about coupons, as she sat in front of the TLC show ‘Extreme Couponing’ religiously. It helped me so much when I moved out to go to college. I studied costume design, which is less about designing and more about how to save money getting clothes for actors. I used the methods she taught me on how to save money out the wazoo, and was able to get to go on trips around the world, which is where my true passion lies.

Beyond that, she has taught me that family is what means the most in life. They’ve always had my back. I see lots of families today not spending time together, gathering around to play board games, establishing new traditions as  families evolve. When I moved back home to reassess what I wanted to do with my life, she mentioned starting a blog. Funny enough, I was also looking at how to start my own blog. I approached her one day about wanting to run this website you’re looking at now together. And she said yes!

Our aim is to help and communicate with others how to live life essentially. I want people to know that financial situations shouldn’t affect your dreams. And my mom is hoping to express her ideas as well as learn from others how to grow as a family. Together we’re just a couple of Stellys.

– Seth Stelly

Welcome! I am Janet Stelly

I’m a mom to two children, wife, and nana to one grandson. Other hats I wear include being a daughter, sister, aunt, follower of God, friend, employee, internal auditor, and certified public accountant (CPA). My struggles include keeping the household going and finding time to do things I love.  I love spending time with my family, reading, traveling, working jigsaw puzzles, helping others, and spending time with my cat and two dogs.  I love to find bargains whether it is at a retail store, garage sale, thrift shop, or resale store.  My mission continues to be to work towards living life to the fullest, strengthening my faith, decluttering my house, organizing better, conquering the mass of papers, and working on time management.  Join us as we share our wins that we have experienced through this journey and also, just as important, what did not work well for us.

Bonjour! My name is Seth Stelly

My passion is traveling, photography, and sharing with others how they can experience the world with a budget. I originally went to school for art and design, and shortly after worked at Disney for two years as a sewing specialist. Getting to meet a wide diversity of people had inspired me to travel around the world, but on a Disney cast member pay salary (it isn’t much if you’re wondering).
